About RedDotRubyConf React-Rails Workshop

This React-Rails Workshop is one of RedDotRubyConf 2016's fringe events.

RedDotRubyConf is the largest Ruby conference in South East Asia and will be held on 23, 24 June. Check out the conference now!

In this workshop, we will learn about ReactJS and the usage of ReactJS with Ruby on Rails.
We will be building an app with ReactJS and Rails to learn about ReactJS, as well as how to
integrate it effectively with Rails!

This event is limited to 30 participants only. Grab your seat now!
(We'll have snacks provided during tea break.)

Topics Covered

We will cover ReactJS basics - components, states, and props - related to data flow, and we'll
also look at setting up a ReactJS on Rails app.

Next, we will discuss rendering models of ReactJS components and component lifecycle methods.
We will then take a look at how to perform server side rendering using ReactJS.

Learning Outcome

At the end of the workshop, the attendees will be more equipped with an understanding of
the basics of ReactJS and how to integrate it with Rails.

They will also have a working example of such an app to further their learning in future.

For those attending the ReactJS-Rails workshop, familiarity with Ruby on Rails is expected.
No prior knowledge of React is required.

Attendees are also expected to bring laptops (and chargers) that are set up with Rails.
