More about our May Artists
"Nicole Brophy has a voice possessing everything that is good
about country singing,
with the grunt and raunch of the great female rock tradition
thrown in for good measure”
Get ready to catch a good ole dose of this pocket rocket delivering music as it once was meant to be steeped in the deepest roots of early blues-rock, alt-country, soul and singing about life-sex-and sometimes love. Nicole Brophy is a breath of raspy, wine soaked, fresh air to anyone who stumbles across her heartfelt performances. Having toured with the likes of Kate Miller Heidke, supported the likes of Kasey Chambers and graced the likes of stages like Splendour in The Grass, if you're looking for a hefty injection of guts and soul, Brophy's your woman.
In this crazy world of increasing distraction walks Tim Stokes, a big-hearted man with a pocket full of songs, reminding us of who we are and what really matters. He is a combination of the swoon of Elvis’‘Can’t Help Falling in Love With You’ and the party starter vibe of ‘Dumb Things’ Paul Kelly. A festival favourite, you may have been lucky enough to see him on the bill at Bellingen, Mullumbimby or Splendour Music Festivals to name a few. Tim Stokes will open your heart, expand your mind and get your body grooving with songs that branch the bridges between ages, generations and walks of life. His songs are sewn with hope, love and light, reminding us the “cracks are there for the light to shine in.
From smoky front bars (back
in the days when front bars were smoky) to intimate café’s, festivals, to
wineries, renowned live music venues and venues that should never try to host
live music, Christina has been dishing up her rootsy folk-pop styles since the
early naughties. Her live gigs
are always fuelled by down to earth stories, sweet and simple pop
melodies, folky harmonies and rootsy-great energy. Joined by the Wishing Well, a
couple of rootsy guitars,
a dash of trombone and driving rhythms become the backdrop to stories of love,
family and all the edges of this human life.
