About Culion Expedition II

On September 8-11, we will have our second Culion Expedition.

Culion, Palawan boasts a rich marine biodiversity. It may have been known for its history of being a leper colony, however this year we will try to change this stigma. This beautiful laid back island has been 100% leper-free for many years now. In fact, the cure for leprosy was discovered there! Doctors from all over the world travel to see and learn from Culion's sophisticated hospital. The illness was both a curse and a blessing; It prevented people from going near its reefs, thus keeping it pristine and breathtaking up to this day. Recently, Kawil Tours teamed up with Reef Nomads to create a skin diving tour package. Together, we explored the best possible skin diving sites and are sharing this wonderful experience with you for the first time.

About the Organizer

Reef Nomads

Reef Nomads reconnects people to the ocean through guided skin diving tours. Skin diving is a cross between snorkeling and scuba diving. Like scuba diving, skin diving involves submerging ourselves in water to look closely at marine life. But we only have the minimal equipment snorkelers use—a mask, snorkel, and fins. We use this lifestyle sport to make the youth conscious of the ocean. We make marine conservation fun, accessible, and personal.
