  • Entertainment and Dancing from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

About the Organizer

George "Brandon" Martin

Brandon Martin is a law professor and civil litigator. He grew up in Bakersfield and went on to attend one of the nation's most selective law schools and practice at some of the most competitive law firms in the world. In his second case out of law school, he ended up achieving the largest personal injury settlement in the history of Sutter County. Just four years later, he worked on what was then the second largest private real estate transaction in our country's history. He has served as the Director of the CSU Bakersfield SBDC, as the Chairman of the Kern County Planning Commission, and as Supervisor David Couch's Chief of Staff. He is also a licensed Real Estate Broker and a credentialed Project Management Professional (PMP). His community involvement has included membership on the Roadrunner Club board as well as the Henrietta Weill Child Guidance Clinic. Brandon is best known as a local lawyer, practicing with his father, George Martin, and co-organizing the 2010 and 2016 Bakersfield Business Conference and the 2015 Bakersfield Rock and Country Music and Art Festival as well as Kern Talks. He is currently a candidate for Kern County Superior Court Judge. His promise is to be respectful to parties and participants who appear before him and to always be fair and impartial. His campaign will foster a local discussion of matters that are not only important to him, but crucial to the justice system itself: (1) protecting our Constitutional freedoms, (2) defending the rights of crime victims, and (3) fighting to focus the courts on fairness.
