Neta is a new bilingual multimedia platform based in the Rio Grande Valley along the Texas-Mexico border. We create engaging and culturally relevant content that amplifies the voices of border residents aimed to challenge mainstream narratives about our region. We are online-based and publish videos, live broadcasts, podcasts, and articles. Neta’s core mission is to challenge mainstream narratives about the borderlands that have been made popular for the sake of the commercial and political interests of a few. We are the people who have tried to work with mainstream media to share the real stories of our community or the stories that should matter and those we want the world to know us for. We are the content creators who have been continually censored or restricted to share the story of who we are beyond the stereotypical frameworks that mainstream media has created. We are those on the ground doing the work that you see on the news but who rarely get to decide exactly what will be published and if what's published will be fair. But most importantly, we are all closely connected with our community, its problems, and its solutions, so we can deliver content crafted to not only inform the world but to change it, too.

THE LAUNCH PARTY
We are inviting the community to our launch party to fundraise what we need to continue our platform. The funds will help us get a studio with all the equipment we need to create videos, podcasts, live broadcasts, and more. It will also help us get paid managers, content creators, graphic designers, and editors. Our launch party will have live music and entertainers from our borderland. There will also be food that is uniquely representative of our region, such as raspas, spiropapas, elote, and Mexican food. There will also be local vendors and artists and a silent auction.
During our launch party, we will have our first Reclama Awards which will recognize three people from the Rio Grande Valley who are using any form of art or storytelling to amplify border voices and challenge mainstream narratives about our region. This year we are awarding Celeste De Luna Art
, and Noemi Martinez! We are also recognizing RAIX, Jamie Berroutt, and Rice, Beans & Revolution
If you’d like to be a vendor, sponsor our launch party, or have any inquiries, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
