On Saturday December 7th The Song Lounge will be back at the delightful Crabbes Creek Community hall filling it with folky, rootsy, heartful goodness.
Get ready to dine out on a tasty spread of original indie folk and roots music. See 2 of the Northern Rivers best songwriters and storytellers up close, personal and all original. Nick's indi-surf folk will ease you into summer and the silly season with head to toe calm and cruisey vibes. Just back from her national tour Sam Buckingham is the consumate storyteller, intimate and grass roots is her element and she will be in it at this next Song Lounge filling us up with tunes sweet and rootsy. As always hosting the night is folk-pop songster and live original music lover Christina Giorgio, reminding you of the simple power of 3 chords and a story and creating a space that plugs us into ourselves, each other and the absolute joy of original, live music.
Doors open at 6pm and Hari Har Chai will be making dinner so you don’t have to with her delicious $10 bowls. In between acts set up on one of the shared tables, meet somebody new and get the conversations flowing. Grab one of the rugs and chill out with a cushion, chai and a loved one.
Grab your friends, neighbours or special someone and come together to escape the everyday. Step into a space fuelled by community, connection, excellent music and a little bit of magic.
There will be chai, cakes and bowl food available on the night. Tickets are $20 + booking fee pre purchase or $25 on the door. Children 6-14 are $10 presale or $13 at the door. Small humans under 5 are by gold coin donation. Bring a cushion and blankie and get comfy!
Ex South Australian muso Nick's indi-surf folk vibes found their roots busking on the streets of Byron Bay. Since releasing his debut EP in 2015 Nick has regularly toured Australia performing widely to sold out audiences. In 2017 he made his first appearance in New Zealand performing in Auckland while touring his second EP. In 2019 Nick was the winner of the Falls Festival Foster a band completion, earning his place on stage at the highly regarded music and arts event. He has also performed at Splendour in the Grass and the Byron Bay Blues and Roots Festival as well as appearing online for Sofar Sounds and Tram sessions.

From smoky front bars (back in the days when front bars were smoky) to intimate café’s, festivals, to wineries, renowned live music venues and venues that should never try to host live music, Christina has been dishing up her rootsy folk-pop styles. Her live gigs are always fuelled by down to earth stories, sweet and simple pop melodies, folky harmonies and rootsy-great energy. Low key guitar style is the backdrop to big vocals and hooky lyrical songs that track all the edges of this human experience.
